REPORT FROM LARA -- LOT A-3

I recently returned from a week in San Juan Del Sur. I had 3 goals when planning my trip. My first goal was to pay the property taxes due on the lot my husband and I had purchased in the Paraiso de Amelia (PDA) development. My second goal was to visit Paraiso de Amelia, I hadn't been back to San Juan Del Sur or PDA since purchasing the lot 2 years ago. My third goal was to relax and enjoy the town of San Juan Del Sur. I accomplished all my goals and so much more.

Pat Lynch, the PDA property manager, was kind enough to take me to the SJDS government building to pay the taxes. Outside of ordering meals and exchanging pleasantries, I don't speak much Spanish, so I appreciated the assistance. I had expected the process to be time consuming and frustrating, but I was completely wrong. The process was incredibly easy and took less than 10 minutes. I couldn't believe it.

Next, Pat took me to the PDA development. The timing of my trip was perfect. Issy and Pat Gale were in town, staying in their newly built home and they invited me to join them for an afternoon/evening to experience life at PDA. As we entered the development, I was impressed by the condition of the roads. The development was beautiful, just as I remembered it. I was excited to see the quantity and variety of trees that had been planted; coconut palms, mango, cashew, etc.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Issy and Pat Gale. They were incredibly friendly and I instantly felt welcome and comfortable in their home. We spent the afternoon on the patio, getting to know each other and enjoying the tranquility and beauty of PDA. A little before sunset, we noticed a group of Howler monkeys in the trees, about 50 yards from the house. It was amazing to see them so close. The sunset from PDA was spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Issy and Pat Gale, Pat and Cheryl Lynch, their friends, and the PDA workers.

I spent the rest of my trip experiencing the town of San Juan Del Sur and everything it has to offer. The town and surrounding area has definitely grown; many new homes and businesses. My husband was not able to join me on this trip, so I had been a bit nervous about traveling alone. I felt comfortable and safe in the town and everyone I met was friendly and made me feel welcome. My days were filled with hiking, sailing, surfing, scuba diving, and sunset Yoga classes on the beach. I spent my evenings watching magnificent sunsets and enjoying the various restaurants. I felt like I could've stayed forever.

At the close of my trip, I came to the realization that I was incredibly fortunate to have purchased land in such a beautiful setting and in a development that was owned and operated by such honest, friendly, and helpful people. I am uncertain about my long term plans in Nicaragua, but I feel confident that I made the right decision when purchasing land in PDA.

PLAN YOUR TRIP ..EXPERIENCE, ENJOY, INVEST IN THIS BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY..
